Bedbugs are primarily identified by bedbug bites. Bedbug bites are often mistaken for a rash. They are usually close together and often are in lines. Other indicators include blood spots that they leave on the sheets, pillow, and bed. They also lay white cylindrical eggs in cracks and crevices on and around the mattress and bed frame.
Most termites along the Wasatch front are subterranean termites. This means that the colony is outside to home, under the ground. The colony sends in a line of termites to eat a bite of wood and bring it back to the colony to share. This leaves holes in the wood they eat. Termites are identified by these holes in the wood, or by the dirt and wood tubes, called frass tubes, they create to access wood. They build these tubes to maintain a higher level of humidity inside the tube. In the open air they would dry up. Frass tubes are usually found going up a cement foundation.
